The Microphone - Can be mounted above the rear view mirror. The battery life is supposedly approximately a year with regular use. The battery is a watch-like battery and comes included in the box. The Wireless Controller - Small and ergonomic controller with a dial can be mounted absolutely anywhere in the vehicle as there is no wire restricting it's positioning. The screen is detachable not to tempt potential thieves. Apart from displaying all the usual phone related functions it also displays the album cover images from your iPod/iPhone. The screen is small enough to be neatly mounted almost anywhere on the dash to be able to see without taking your eyes off the road, yet big enough to be able to clearly see and operate.

The Screen - a 2.4" full colour screen with an SD card slot on the side. Read more ion is also pretty handy as it enables you to stream the audio wirelessly from the apps on your phone to your stereo. When wired correctly the audio will play through all of the car speakers (phone conversations are only played through the 2 front speakers). The voice dial functions on the unit are surprisingly good as I have not had any problems with it.

I purchased this unit because I was growing tired of having to constantly recharge my handsfree bluetooth device and having to fiddle around with my iPod controls when selecting music (iPod was plugged in to the Aux connection in my car). Voice dial quite good when it happens to workįunction, Price, Charger, Integration with radio. This product is just so bad that I would recommend to never buy any Parrot product ever. Again a true feat of inconsistent engineering.īy the way, I do review products in a positive light when they are good. Inconsistency that would be hard to engineerģ - Integration with radio - If you have a phone plugged but you are using the radio or CD the Parrot will magically interfere with the radio transmission intermittently. The charger will not charge your iPhone for literally hours then charge it for one minute then stop chargi. Now for the details as to why I would recommend you never buy one.ġ - Remote controlled - This product comes with a remote controlled with is so rarely connected to the display that it merely acts as an ornament for the dashboardĢ - Charger - This is incredibly frustrating. Absolutely hopeless and quite frankly an insulting product. This is the epitome of mediocracity meeting inadequacy. The Parrot Mki9200 disappoints on every level.

The voice recognition is ok, better than my android just in that the android doesn't announce when to speak, but I did find the apple's one better as it did announce (you can select to use parrot or phone for this). The remote either chews through the batteries or can't communicate with the main unit which is 20cm away, I find myself button mashing it to get it to do anything. Syncing hasn't been great, needed a f/w update to reliably sync to my android, and even now 30% of time i need to turn bluetooth off/on (there is a new f/w now that i'll try later v2.20) Read more ng on phone and then need to go somewhere while talking it is annoying, my Sony took 5sec to sync phone once car turned on. So although it has all those options I've just found that they don't always work very well.įirst, it takes ages to start up, maybe a minute which may not seem like much but when you are talki. It also has iPod/iPhone connector, 3.5mm headphone plug, SD card and USB flash drive!
It has a wired screen, and a wireless remote which you stick onto dash or strap to steering wheel. This unit is a Handsfree car kit (bluetooth) but can also play media via bluetooth streaming. Purchased this unit to replace an older Sony car kit that had sadly died.
